Dr. Andrew J. Brown brings a rare combination of scientific depth, global business experience, and industry-wide perspective to every engagement. His career spans more than four decades in photonics and laser technology — beginning with a Ph.D. from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, one of the world's leading centers for photonics research.
A highlight of Andrew's early career was running Business Development at Aculight Corporation, focusing on solid-state and fiber laser systems for defense, industry, and healthcare — a company subsequently acquired by Lockheed Martin. He then joined SPIE where he led their Global Business Development and Industry activities, building a global professional network and playing a central role in creating the annual Global Photonics Industry Report and the SPIE Global Business Forum, as well as influencing technical programs and exhibitions, building deep relationships across the global industry.
